We seek to thoroughly prepare all graduates of Franklin Academy for the post-secondary path of study they choose. With a strong academic focus beginning in the freshman year and continuing through graduation, Franklin Academy guides students to explore their individual strengths and interests while setting challenging goals for their future. All students graduate with the NC Future-Ready Core Course of Study, along with additional local requirements that better prepare students for collegiate academics. Franklin Academy academic counselors are available to meet individually with students and their families as they navigate the best path to college, military service, or employment training.

NCTAP
NCTAP is an apprenticeship program designed to develop experts needed in the modern workforce. The program, based in North Carolina’s Triangle area, focuses on integrated basic training which develops technical, methodological, and social skills. The core training program utilizes a hands-on approach to develop skills across a wide range of disciplines.
Starting in the 11th grade of high school, this 4-year program is divided into modules, with classes leading to an Associate’s Degree (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Automotive Systems Technology at Wake Tech Community College or Mechatronics Engineering Technology at Vance Granville Community College and paid, on-the-job training at participating Triangle employers.
NCTAP is proud to be associated with Apprenticeship 2000, a highly-successful program in the Charlotte area, and with the NC Department of Commerce’s Apprenticeship & Training Bureau.
IBM NEW COLLAR APPRENTICESHIP
No Degree? No Problem! This program is designed to create new career pathways for candidates without an advanced degree. This program is available to students once they graduate high school!
NCRWA GO WATER APPRENTICESHIP
The NCRWA GO WATER! Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a 6-week summer program that introduces participants, ages 16-24, to water and wastewater career pathways. By participating in this pre-apprenticeship, you may gain direct entry unto the NCRWA Water and Wastewater Systems Operation Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program.
NCRWA GO WATER! Pre-Apprenticeship consists of 2 phases:
Phase 1: Participants complete skill and interest assessments, take part in basic job readiness training, and are introduced to the water industry. (3 weeks)
Phase 2: Participants explore a variety of career options available within the water and wastewater industry, take part in job shadowing experiences, and participate in worksite tours. (3 Hours)
